Wizata has raised €1.5M in total. We talked with Jean-Philippe Hugo, its CEO.
How would you describe Wizata in a single tweet?
Wizata is an Industry 4.0 platform empowering process manufacturing companies to digitalize their processes, and to build & deploy artificial intelligence in live production environment.
How did it all start and why?
We started as a pure data science company, with the goal of bridging AI & data expertise with the business knowledge of our customers. There was a market need for an Industry 4.0 platform: we standardized our expertise and best practices in an open-architecture platform that monitors assets, contextualizes data, and allows engineers to develop AI solutions and integrate them into live production.
Wizata allows to swiftly embrace the power of Artificial Intelligence and enables data driven decisions, to address the most complex challenges such as yield, energy consumption, quality and maintenance. Companies can centralize in one place their AI solutions that they develop on their own, keeping and expanding knowledge inside the company. At a time where companies must adapt to the Industry 4.0 paradigm, we help our customers to be autonomous and future-proof their business: the data, models and IP stay under their sole control.
What have you achieved so far?
More than 20 dynamic and young enthusiasts of 10 different nationalities are working for Wizata. We combine cutting edge technologies, the respect of customers values, a hard-working spirit to imagine the best solution regardless the complexity, and a strong business expertise. The Wizata platform was launched at Hannover Messe 2019, the world’s leading trade show for industrial technology. As an innovation catalyzer, major industrial companies such as ArcelorMittal, Aperam, Carmeuse, Paul Wurth, chose Wizata to foster their R&D and to bring intelligent solutions into real production. So far, we have analyzed 7PB of data of more than 11,449,968 t of material.
What do you plan to achieve in the next 2-3 years?
Wizata was born as an international company in the heart of Europe, in Luxembourg. We always worked around the world, from Northern Canada to Brazil, and we expanded our operations with employees dedicated to the Belgian, German, Austria and Swiss markets, with more coming. The Wizata platform, accessible from anywhere including on mobile, can be deployed from isolated mines to hyper-connected factories, and can replicate solutions to similar assets in a blink. Our business expertise in the process industry will allow us to bring our innovative solutions to related markets, such as pulp & paper, food & beverages, and chemicals industries.
